SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The timing of Hurricane Sandy is worrying those on the campaign trail, since Election Day is just 11 days away.

Forecasters say it could work its way up the coast around Delaware, New Jersey, or New York by Tuesday morning; just before Halloween and linger on during the week.

Experts are predicting at least $1-billion in damages, but it could also cause some political damage too.

“Two or three bad days of weather can have a gigantic impact--even disastrous--on what those efforts are on either side to get their people to the polls to vote early,” Springfield political consultant Tony Cignoli said.

If you're concerned that the weather may prevent you from voting, contact your local town or city offices to see if you can vote early.
