SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Police are searching for three suspects wanted in connection for an armed home invasion in a Mason Square neighborhood, early Monday morning.
The incident took place at 116 Westford Avenue. The second floor of the multifamily home was reportedly broken into around 4:30 AM.
Police Captain Cheryl Claprood confirmed with 22News that the family who lives in the apartment was home at the time. One of the residents struggled with one of the suspects, but fortunately everyone is O. K. and no one was injured.
However, the suspects took off on foot, and state police have been out with their K-9's trying to look for them. They're described as three Hispanic men; they were all dressed in black and wearing masks. One of the suspects is also armed. But police do not believe the public is in danger. Captain Claprood told 22News that it's believed these men were looking for drugs, but had the wrong house.
If you have any information, you're asked to call the Springfield Police Detective Bureau at (413) 787 - 6355.
