LUDLOW, Mass. (WWLP) - The search is resuming for a man who jumped off a bridge in Ludlow on Tuesday.
Dennis Leger, aide to the Springfield Fire Commissioner, told 22News that crews from Springfield and Ludlow are searching for a second day along the banks of the Chicopee River near the Putts Bridge. Members of the State Police Dive team are also assisting in the search.
Leger says that four witnesses saw the man jumping off the Putts Bridge Tuesday afternoon . The man got swept down the river, and crews lost sight of him a short time later.
The bridge, which connects Ludlow and Indian Orchard, was completely closed for about an hour at the beginning of the evening commute, while the search was underway.
