CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - The final campaign stretch for Massachusetts' highly-watched senate race is going through western Massachusetts, with both the Brown and Warren campaigns maintaining stops in the region on Friday.

At 8:30am Friday morning, Brown was at the Munich Haus Restaurant on Center Street in Chicopee for a breakfast meet and greet. It was the first of two stops in the Springfield area that he was scheduled to make Friday, with the second scheduled at Boilard Lumber in Indian Orchard at 10:30. The stops are part of Senator Brown's 'People over Party' bus tour.

The Brown campaign cited the tour as the main reason why they were unable to reschedule the fourth and final senate debate.

The debate was supposed to take place on Tuesday in Boston, but was canceled due to Hurricane Sandy.

Meanwhile, retiring eastern Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank (D-Newton) will also be in western Mass. Friday to stump for Elizabeth Warren.

Rep. Frank will be at Warren's campaign office on Island Pond Road in Springfield at 10:15am. Then he heads to Warren's Northampton office at 11:30am on Strong Avenue.

The race is very close and very expensive.

As of Oct. 17, Warren had just $3.5 million in her account, having already spent $35.4 million. Brown had $3.7 million left, after having spent $32.5 million.
