Sister of Westfield 9/11 victim read brother's name at NYC memorial

NEW YORK (WWLP) - At the site of the World Trade Center on Tuesday, the names of the close to three thousand people who were killed on September 11 were read throughout the morning.

There were also moments of silence at the respective times when each of the four hijacked planes were lost that tragic day.

One of those reading names of the victims was Ann Murphy of Westfield , who lost her brother, Brian Murphy, at the World Trade Center.

Here is what she said at the ceremony:

“Brian, we love and miss you each day of the 4,017 that have passed since that fateful day: September 11, 2001. Your devoted wife, Judy, has guided your beautiful and intelligent daughters Jessica and Leila into compassionate, articulate, athletic, and academically talented young ladies. They are your greatest legacy. Your New York and Massachusetts families, and your friends throughout the country and world carry you in their thoughts and prayers always, and honor your memory forever. Love you, Bri.”

Brian Joseph Murphy is honored in Westfield with his name on a memorial at the Sons of Erin , along with fellow city natives Danny Trant and Tara Creamer, who both also died in the attacks.
