Smoke detectors saved Longmeadow family

LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) - Working smoke detectors saved a family's life in Longmeadow.

Fire Chief Eric Madison told 22News the fire started in the fireplace at 16 Westmoreland Avenue around this 1:00 Saturday morning.

Madison said the fire spread into the walls.

The two people who were living in the home are now staying with neighbors.

No one was hurt.
