FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WWLP) - A Southwick man is facing drunk driving charges after he allegedly hit a pedestrian with his car near Gillette Stadium.

According to a news release sent to 22News by State Police Media Relations, Daniel Lishness, 27, of Southwick was arrested in Foxborough around 1:00 Tuesday morning.

State police say that a passing trooper noticed a man writhing in pain in the middle of Route 1. The man told police that he had been hit by a car, and gave them a description. Another trooper about two miles away noticed Lishness’s Infiniti sedan, which had a hole in the window and a broken side-view mirror.

The trooper talked with Lishness and his passengers, and allegedly smelled alcohol on his breath. He was arrested, taken to the nearby state police barracks, and charged with OUI liquor (2nd offense), OUI liquor with serious injury and negligent operation, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. He will be arraigned Tuesday in Wrentham District Court.

The victim, a 30 year-old Boston man, suffered a broken leg, cuts, and bruises.

The accident happened just after the New England Patriots 28-point win over the Houston Texans at Gillette.
