Springfield gears up for 2012 enshrinement

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Friday is enshrinement day for the 2012 class of the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield.
Five-time NBA all-star Reggie Miller and four-time champion Jamaal Wilkes are just two of the 12 players, coaches and teams who will be enshrined.
Symphony Hall is where the actual enshrinement ceremony is taking place.
The inductees had a very busy day Thursday. They were at the Basketball Hall of Fame to receive their Hall of Fame jackets and then they had a reunion dinner.
Friday, they'll be playing a round of golf called the "enshrinement championship" before the actual enshrinement ceremony which officially kicks off at 7:30PM.
Saturday the class heads down to Mohegan Sun for a celebration of their induction.
All this hoopla is of course a lot of fun for basketball fans and great news for the city of Springfield.
Most of the hotels have been booked full since Wednesday, and restaurants are certainly welcoming the extra business.
