SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A Springfield teenager has died, days after being found shot three times.
Springfield Police Sergeant John Delaney told 22News that 16 year-old Tyrel Wheeler of Springfield, who was shot in the face, chest, and arm on Thursday , died on Sunday.
Wheeler was found on Washington Street, after he had fallen from the silver Honda that he was driving.
He was taken to Baystate Medical Center, where he underwent surgery and had been listed in critical condition.
Though Wheeler was found on Washington Street, Delaney says its believed that the shooting happened elsewhere. Delaney says that there was no "shot spotter" activation anywhere in the area.
