SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The city of Springfield is moving ahead with the second phase of its casino selection process.

Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno will hold a news conference Thursday afternoon to announce who will be serving on the Phase Two advisory committee.

Ameristar, Penn National and MGM have all moved on to the second phase of the selection process.

City officials have said they want to have a host agreement in place with one of the casinos by the end of its second phase.

The State Gaming Commission will have the final say as to what casino is developed in western Massachusetts.
