SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Springfield's Roosevelt Avenue Dry Bridge is reportedly ready to re-open. Before it closed, 21,000 drivers crossed the bridge every day.
The bridge linking Bay Street with Page Boulevard was closed for repairs September 4, and was supposed to re-open first Monday, and then again on Wednesday. The re-opening has still yet to happen, and the delay has disappointed drivers.
“It's terrible, It's about a half hour out of the way, just to go around in the detours” Arnie Malefsky of Springfield said.
A Department of Transportation spokesperson said that even after they reopen to traffic, the project is still one year away from completion.
