SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Springfield Fire Fighters were able to keep a garage fire from spreading to a house in the city's north end Thursday night.

There was a lot of smoke from the fire at 25 Greenwich Street just before 10:30 Thursday night.

The fire destroyed the detached garage, but caused only minor damage to the house next door.
