Springfield Police cruiser involved in accident

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A Springfield police cruiser was involved in an accident late Monday night on Roosevelt Avenue.

The front end of the cruiser was smashed, and so was the front end of an SUV.

Lt. David Martin told 22News that the accident happened at around 11:30pm.

The only other detail he could release was that the officer in that cruiser was taken to the hospital, but is expected to be okay.
