SPRINGFIELD, Mass (WWLP) - A Springfield family is using a special holiday tradition as a chance to honor those little children and women who lost their lives in the Sandy Hook shootings.

For years Susan Becker has transformed her Tourigny Street home in the Liberty Heights neighborhood into Santa's house, where children can come see Santa, enjoy Christmas decorations and even take home a Christmas present. This year Santa's house is also a place to pay tribute to the victims of Newtown.

“As sad as we are, I feel good that we're giving people a place to come and cry and to just join each other. We all understand how each other feels,” Susan Becker told 22News.

Susan told 22news the Sandy Hook shootings hit close to home because she works in the school system. This special tribute will run for 27 nights to honor the 27 killed last week.
