SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Springfield School Committee will revisit a hot button issue in just a few weeks; the ongoing search for the city's next school superintendent.
Current Superintendent Dr. Alan Ingram announced his resignation last summer and will be leaving at the end of this school year.
So far, a series of community meetings have been held to gain input from parents and others. Next, a selection committee will be appointed.
Vice Chairman of the Springfield School Committee, Christopher Collins, told 22News, “That committee will review all of the applications of people who have met the minimum criteria and interview and send on three to five names to the full committee.”
Collins told 22News the window of applications for the selection committee has closed.
Those who've applied include parents, school committee members, and even local business owners.
The school committee will appoint the search committee members on April 12th.
