SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at 11PM, the Memorial Bridge will close to all traffic, vehicular and pedestrian, to allow for the set-up of the Star Spangled Springfield fireworks display. The bridge will open around 11PM on July 4th.
On July 4th at 7:30PM, the Springfield Police Department will begin to close roads in the vicinity of the Memorial Bridge. Massachusetts State Police will close Exit 7.
Festivities will begin on July 4th at 7:30PM in Riverfront Park with a performance by Dan Kane’s Rising Stars, followed by a fireworks display from the Memorial Bridge at 9:30PM. MIX 93.1 FM will broadcast a musical simulcast for the 20-minute display.
