FRANKLIN, Mass. (WWLP) - Below is information regarding the MIAA Girls' Swimming and Diving State Championships at Springfield College this Saturday:

NEWS RELEASE FROM THE MIAA

The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) announced the following details regarding this weekend’s Girls’ Swimming and Diving State Championships at Springfield College, to be held on Saturday, February 16. The following does not affect the MIAA Boys’ Championships at Harvard to be held on Sunday, February 17:

•    There will be NO public sale of spectator tickets at the Girls’ Division 1 and 2 Championships at the Linkletter Natatorium at Springfield College. However, arrangements have been made to have as many competitions as possible streamed live on www.masslive.com.

•    The change in the qualifying format instituted earlier this week added many swimmers/divers to the State competitions at Springfield College. The MIAA is allocating a number of complimentary tickets to schools that have students competing in the meet. Principals and athletic directors of those schools have been notified.  

•    MIAA Tournament passes, distributed annually to school leaders and athletic officials, will not be honored at the Springfield College venue.

•    There will be NO parking on the Springfield College campus. Parking has been arranged at Springfield High School of Science & Technology, 1250 State St., Springfield where shuttle buses will bring people to the venue beginning at 7:45 am.

•    Team busses may drop their students at the Linkletter and then proceed to the parking site designated for team busses. Coaches and other school officials not traveling with the team must use the shuttle system.

•    The Division 2 Girls Championship will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 16. The Division 1 Girls Championship will begin at 4:00 pm.

•    Arrangements at Harvard University’s Blodgett Pool for the Boys’ State Championship, to be held on Sunday, February 17 remain unchanged. Tickets will be on sale at the site. The Division 2 Championship will begin at 12:30 pm and the Division 1 Championship will begin at 6:00 pm.
