Suspected gas leak in Springfield evacuates two apartment bulidings

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Two apartment buildings had to be evacuated in Springfield after a suspected gas leak.

22News was there when people were coming out of their homes at apartments 282 and 292 Union Street around 11:30 Friday night.

Residents were standing on the sidewalk while fire crews searched the buildings and streets were closed off.

Lt. David Martin told 22News no gas leak was found in either apartments.
