SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Hundreds of people got their fill of Italian food Saturday night at Our Lady of Mount Carmel's Taste of Italy.
The celebration of Italian culture, cuisine and company featured more than 30 Italian main and side dishes, some from local restaurants and many from homemade recipes. One organizer told 22news it's a festive way to enjoy the food they're known for, and of course to enjoy each other.
“Coming in October which is Italian heritage month is very important to highlight some of the special cooking dishes that are known by Italians. Beyond that it’s a way to get families together,” said Teresa Regina.
Regina said the money raised from this event brings them one step closer to their dream of a new parish hall.
