SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Nine men have been arrested for allegedly trying to solicit an undercover police officer for sex, including one who offered to give the officer a tattoo in exchange for favors, police said.
Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney told 22News that the following nine men were arrested and charged with sexual conduct for a fee, for allegedly trying to solicit an undercover officer stationed near Locust Street and Palmer Avenue between 1:00 P.M. and 4:00 P.M. on Thursday:
According to Delaney, neighbors had been complaining that prostitutes had been working in the area, and bringing customers to nearby side streets for sex.
Among those arrested, Delaney says that Colon had offered the undercover officer a tattoo worth $50.00 in exchange for sex.
He says that Brown was driving his wife around, when he got out of the van and went up to the officer- offering her $30 to have sex with him after he dropped off his wife.
Lazzerin, who Delaney says was driving a FedEx truck, allegedly offered the officer $30 to have sex with him in the back of the truck.
Delaney said that Whyte was driving an auto parts delivery truck, and was in the middle of a tool delivery, when he spotted the officer.
All nine suspects are scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Springfield District Court.
