CHICOPEE, Mass. (wwlp) - A teenage boy was seriously injured when a car hit him as he rode his bicycle across Memorial Drive in Chicopee Friday night.
The Chicopee Police Accident Reconstruction Unit closed the inside lane of Memorial Drive while they took photographs and measurements.
Chicopee Police Captain Lonny Dakin told 22News the unidentified 18-year-old boy was crossing Memorial Drive when the cars had a green light.
22News video showed the bicycle was in pieces and the car windshield was shattered.
Captain Dakin said the victim was badly hurt, but was expected to survive his injuries.
No charges have been filed so far.
