WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The first weekend of the Big E is drawing to a close, but fortunately there are still two full weeks of food and fun for you to enjoy.
It's pretty quiet at the Eastern States Exposition this morning, but it certainly won't stay that way for long.
According to the Big E website, almost 63-thousand people came out to enjoy the first day of the Big E. There is really something for everyone at the Big E, but especially if you have a Girl Scout in your family, today is a day you don't want to miss. Today the Big E is saluting Girl Scouts on their 100th anniversary. Today Girl Scouts past and present can play 19th century games at 12:30, and they'll also participate in the daily parade. And you can't salute Girl Scouts without Girl Scout cookies-- The Coffee Break in the food court will have deep fried Samoas every day of the Big E. There's also an exhibit will be set up in the New England Center where fairgoers can learn about the Girl Scouts organization through the years.
Don't let the Girl Scout in your family forget her uniform today! If she wears it she'll get into the Big E for free today.
