LUDLOW, Mass. (WWLP) - Danger is no stranger to the intersection where heavily traveled Cady Street meets the equally heavily traveled Fuller Street.
Just this Sunday a driver didn't make a turn in time from Cady Street and wound up hitting the house across the street between the Cady Street. Cars that refuse to obey the stop sign, go past the stop line just to see the oncoming traffic, and try to dodge the cars turning from Fuller Street onto Cady Street.
Some neighborhood residents told 22News they intentionally take a detour.
"There's too many cars coming out there and everyone's in a hurry, there needs to be something done." Matthew Sawyer, Ludlow resident
22News discovered that the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission recommended to the Board of Selectmen that something be done about this irritating Ludlow intersection five years ago.
"Perhaps slow down the vehicles that enter the intersection, and slow down that rate of speed at which they're traveling through the intersection." Gary Roux, Pioneer Valley Planning Commission
But the Commission's recommendations were never followed. If they had been, perhaps this dreaded Ludlow intersection could be maneuvered more safety.
We urge you to notify 22News about the mean streets where you live. Send your e-mails to news@wwlp.com .
