CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Some may think Chicopee Center is less accessible since the Davitt Bridge closed this spring, but that hasn't stopped one popular restaurant from expanding.

The Munich Haus celebrated the grand opening of their Biergarten Wednesday night.

Owners had been working on the 180-seat outdoor Biergarten since late spring, and chose Wednesday night, during their monthly Hops Club meeting, to unveil the new venue.

Patrick Gottschlicht, one of the Munich Haus owners, told 22News it's an exciting time for business in Chicopee. “We see a lot of good prospective things coming to the downtown over the next couple of years. I think we're really going to get a good zone down here and we've heard some rumors of some other restaurants opening up. I think a lot of things are going to start to happen here.”

Hops Club happens at the Munich Haus the third Wednesday of every month. 200 people enjoy a featured beer, themed buffet and a pig roast.
