MONSON, Mass. (WWLP) - Thousands of National Grid customers in Monson were without power early Friday afternoon, but now the lights are back on.

According to the utility company’s website, the power went out around 1:00, and more than 2,400 customers spread across town lost power.

22News contacted Monson Police, but they could not provide information about the potential cause of the outage, which is not impacting neighboring communities.

By late in the 2:00 hour, all but six customers in Monson had their electricity back.
