Ameristar, MGM & Penn National advance to Phase II

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - All three casino developers who submitted proposals to the city of Springfield have moved on to Phase II of city's casino selection process.

Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno's Office says Ameristar, MGM and Penn National Gaming submitted their plans by the Phase I deadline, October 11th

City officials have said they want to have a host agreement in place with one of the casinos by the end of its second phase.  All three proposals can be found on the city's website .

The state gaming commission will have the final say as to what casino is developed in western Massachusetts.
