CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Springfield area families heard how Christmas presents would be out of the reach of so many needy children here in Western Massachusetts.
Many families were determined to do their part by donating bikes, toys, games to disadvantaged kids.
Whole families came with gifts to bolster the Toys for Tots drive. Sometimes the children themselves took the lead.
Katie O’Sullivan of East Longmeadow told 22News, “The girls wanted to. We've been seeing it on TV and seeing all the presents that people are donating and the girls wanted to get something to share.”
They had heard how every gift given to Toys for Tots would make certain as many children as possible would get present Christmas morning.
“Some kids can't afford to have nice presents so I wanted to make sure that some kids will have a good Christmas,” 12 year old Sydney Fowles of South Hadley told 22News.
A good amount of toys have already been donated, but there's still room for more. It's up to you during the final two days of the Toys for Tots drive to fill the need.
We'll welcome you into our lobby from 9 in the morning until 7 in the evening both Monday and Tuesday. Think of how happy you'll make that child and how good you'll feel.
