STURBRIDGE, Mass. (WWLP) - A trade show to help local farmers improve their marketing techniques kicked-off on Wednesday in Sturbridge.

Farmers from all over New England are expected to attend the fourth biannual Harvest New England Agricultural Marketing Conference and Trade Show .

Some of the regions top industry experts will be giving farmers marketing advice, tips on social media, and agri-tourism.

“All direct marketing opportunities are a key factor in the success of a farm,” said Mary Jordan of the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources .

Sukie Kenwall of Oesco, Inc. said that changes in attitudes about food are beneficial to New England farmers.

“With the interest in the ‘buy local’ movement, folks more and more really are lucky to know where their food comes from,” Kenwall said.

The two-day trade show features more than 80 venders including farm equipment and specialty food companies.
