Tree worker killed in East Longmeadow

Southwick man killed in tree accident

EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) - A man working on trees in the backyard of an East Longmeadow home was killed when a tree fell on him. 

East Longmeadow police Sgt. Jeffrey Dalessio told 22News a 28-year-old man from Southwick was killed while working in the backyard of a home on Donamor Lane. The incident happened around 3:30pm.

The Associated Press has identified the victim as Tyler Granfield of Southwick, who works for Tyler's tree service.

Sgt. Dalessio says the police are conducting an investigation, but doesn't believe criminal charges will be filed.
