SOUTHWICK, Mass. (WWLP) - A pick up truck crashed into an apartment complex in Southwick early Saturday morning, and it's just the latest in a series of similar accidents all across Western Massachusetts.

The driver of the pick up truck and his passenger were slightly hurt when the pick up truck crashed into the Brooks Bend Apartments on South Longyard Road just before 2:00 Saturday morning

Southwick Police Sgt. Kirk Sanders told 22News, it took two and a half hours to shore up the building before they could get the pick up truck out of the house. Luckily that apartment was empty. Al Scafuri lives in the next building, which wasn't damaged.

“The whole house shook, the power went off,” said Scafuri. “I went downstairs; the whole front end of the truck was literally sitting inside the first floor.”

Another person who lives at the Brooks Bend Apartments told 22News, he's not surprised the pick up truck crashed into the adjoining building

Steven Brudzinski said, “There have been several accidents on this corner this past year. I've been a resident for fifteen years, there have been three or four accidents in one spot, the building’s never been hit but poles have and a car has

Just last week a car crashed into the porch of a home on White Street in Springfield, and 22News has reported on several similar accidents during the past few months. As for the Southwick incident Saturday morning, no one living in the housing complex was hurt.
