TVs of the future will respond to voice

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Imagine your remote control being replaced with your voice.

Experts are predicting that it's possible we could see TVs of the future responding to voice commands, on our digital devices, rather than the click of a button on a remote control.

So instead of trying to find the TV clicker, the device would respond to phrases like "I'm in the mood for drama" or "play the latest episode of 'The Voice'".

“I think it'd be more convenient for people if they had one device instead of multiple devices,” said John Makowitz of Easthampton

Right now Apple is working on trying to incorporate "Siri", the virtual assistant in Apple's iPhone 4S software to work as a TV clicker.
