HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - A car slammed into a utility pole on Main Street in Holyoke early Friday morning; injuring three people. Two of the crash victims were seriously hurt.

Holyoke Police Captain Denise Duguay told 22News that around 1:30 A.M., the three were inside a silver BMW sedan when it crashed into a utility pole near 962 Main Street.

The police, paramedics and the fire department all worked to get the people out. The Fire Department told 22News they had to use the jaws of life to free the people inside.

A man and a woman were then rushed to Baystate Medical Center with very serious injuries. Another woman was also hurt, but didn't need to be taken to the hospital.

Captain Duguay said nobody had any form of I.D., so they do not know any of their names or ages. The sedan had a Massachusetts license plate.

The State Police accident reconstruction team is trying to figure out what caused the accident.

It's not clear if any charges will be filed.
