SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Springfield Arson and Bomb Squad is looking for the man who may have started a fire this morning at a home in the Forest Park neighborhood.

Dennis Leger, the Aide to Fire Commissioner Joseph Conant, told 22News that someone apparently set fire to clothing and newspapers in a second floor apartment at 140 White Street just before 9AM Saturday morning.

He then barricaded a young woman inside.

The man then reportedly ran away.

According to Leger the people who live there put out the fire themselves.
