EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) - A Veterans Day observance was held in the town of East Longmeadow on Sunday.

Veterans who served during World War II and the Vietnam War stood shoulder to shoulder with younger men in uniform who saw service in the Middle East conflict.

They marched from the American Legion Post 293 to the solemn service near town hall.

“Remembering the people who brought freedom to this country. The people that are out there, definitely our heroes. Without the soldiers there wouldn't be any freedom in this country,” said American Legion Post 293 Commander Brian Lidlund.

All branches of the military were represented during the Veterans Day ceremony in the town of East Longmeadow.
