HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Lorraine's Soup kitchen benefited Election Day from Chicopee's sizable voter turnout.

Many of the voters at Bellamy middle school donated food at the polling place before casting their ballots.

All in support of Lorraine's soup kitchen's mission in Chicopee.

“This time of year people need food, people who don't have a home or are out of a job,” Dennis Beaulieu told 22News.

Lorraine's soup kitchen feeds between fifty to sixty families each day. Their shelves are often bare by the end of the day.
