SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - It's decision day for voters here in Massachusetts.

They'll be narrowing their field of candidates in preparation for the general election this November.

All day long 22News will be 'Working for you' -- canvassing polling places and talking to voters.

The polls open at 7AM Thursday and close at 8PM Thursday.

If you don't know where to vote, call your town or city hall or go to their website.

If your wondering why Primary Day this time is on a Thursday, it's because the state had to change the day so it wouldn't conflict with the Jewish Holiday of Rosh Hashanah.

Massachusetts Secretary of State William Galvin predicts that voter turnout across the state will be about 15%, although, it will likely be higher here in the western part of the state where there are more local races.

22News will have full coverage and complete results of all the races for the U.S. House , Governor's Council , State Senate , State House , Clerk of Courts , Register of Deeds and the race for a seat on the South Hadley Selectboard .

If you are a registered Democrat, you'll only able to vote for the democratic candidates. Same thing for registered Republicans. However, if you are Independent or unenrolled, you can request whichever ballot you'd like.
