HOLYOKE, Mass (WWLP) - Airmen from Westover Air Reserve Base in Chicopee are continuing an annual tradition of spreading holiday cheer.
About 20 Air Force reservists from the 439th Airlift Wing paid a holiday visit Wednesday to the Holyoke Soldiers Home.
The reservists mingled and swapped stories with fellow veterans who served during World War Two and the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
"The vets can really relate to military members and even though there's a 70 year difference in age, they have the same experiences," said Col. Steven Vautrain, Commander 439th Air Lift Wing.
Those attending the Soldiers Home party were also treated to a visit from Santa and Mrs. Clause as well as cookies and other holiday treats.
