CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - More than 20 reservists from Westover Air Reserve Base left the base on Tuesday morning to begin a nearly six-month deployment in Afghanistan.

The departing reservists are aerial port reservists, which work to load and unload cargo in all different kinds of military and civilian aircraft.

They are going to Afghanistan to replace other reservists from the Westover-based 58th Aerial Port Squadron. They are scheduled to return to the U.S. in early September.
