WILBRAHAM, Mass. (WWLP) - 51 year old Thomas Leonard of Wilbraham was killed Sunday night when his SUV crashed into a large tree.

Around 5:00 P.M. Leonard had crashed his Toyota Highlander into the tree in front of 17 Pearl Lane, causing heavy damage to the car. Leonard was unresponsive when police and firefighters got there, and after making efforts to save his life, Leonard was taken to Baystate Medical Center, where he died.

Ptl. John Siniscalchi told 22News that although the driver side airbag did deploy, the Leonard was not wearing a seatbelt.

Police are still looking into what caused the crash.
