WILBRAHAM, Mass. (WWLP) - Wilbraham is having its own New Year's Eve celebration.

They're ringing in the New Year in Wilbraham with songs sledding and horses. It turned out to be a picturesque New Year's Eve in New England.

"No matter what it was going to be a snowstorm or blizzard we were going to have it", says Patti Diotalevi, 250th Celebration Co-Chair.

New Year's is just the beginning of Wilbraham's 250th new year's celebration

"It was 1763 that the town was founded and we're beginning the celebration of our 250th year", says Kevin Moriarty, 250th Celebration Co-Chair.

Wilbraham will have different events through 2013 celebrating its birthday. But these New Year's eve events are aimed at families and kids. Some kids were getting a jump start on the fun.

Fireworks in Wilbraham's Crane Park begin New Year's Eve at 8pm.
