Woman and dog displaced by fire

LUDLOW, Mass. (WWLP) - An elderly woman and her dog were able to escape their burning home in Ludlow.

The fire started around 10:45PM, Tuesday at 19 Barre Drive.

The fire department said it took about a half hour to knock down the flames.

The home's alert system notified them of the fire, but a neighbor also called the fire department.

No word on the cause.
