EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) - A 42-year-old Springfield woman will be heading to court after falsely reporting a man tried to abduct her.

East Longmeadow Police Sgt. Dennish Sheehan told 22News, the woman alleged that a man tried to abduct her in a grocery store parking lot Friday morning.

However, after a follow up investigation and looking over the surveillance camera, police determined the attack did not happen.

Police are not releasing the woman's name at this time.

She will be summonsed to Palmer District Court for the false report of a crime.
