SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Springfield Police Department has identified the woman who was found dead in the back of the Progressive Community Chapel as 38-year-old Judy I. Ramirez of Springfield.

Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney told 22News after an autopsy, the police department has concluded her death as a homicide.

Ramirez’s body was discovered on Wednesday by another woman who was walking down the stairs at the rear of the Progressive Community Chapel, located at 599 State St. in Springfield.

Sgt. John Delaney said, Ramirez’s last known address was 47 Pendleton Ave. in Springfield, and the police are asking anyone with information to contact the Detective Bureau at 413-787-6355 or “Text-a-Tip.”
