Woman in serious condition after being struck by SUV in W. Springfield

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A woman is in serious condition at Baystate Medical Center after she was struck by an SUV on Memorial Avenue Thursday night.

West Springfield Police Sgt. Michael Banas told 22News that the victim is in her 40s, but her name will not be released until her family is notified.

Sgt. Banas told 22News she was crossing Memorial Ave. at the intersection of Union St. at around 6:30 p.m. when she was hit by a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder.

The driver stopped, and no charges have been filed at this time, Sgt. Banas added.
