CHICOPEE, Mass. (wwlp) - A worker was injured by a piece of machinery at a Chicopee woodworking business Wednesday afternoon.

Chicopee deputy fire chief James McInerney told 22News the victim somehow got his arm stuck in a press at Parisi, Incorporated at 1380 Sheridan Street.

Deputy Chief McInerney said co-workers had freed him by the time emergency responders arrived about 2:30 Wednesday afternoon.

The victim, a 36 year old man, suffered what appeared to be serious "crushing injuries" to his hand and arm, and he was rushed to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

Deputy Chief McInerney did not know the victim's identity, the exact nature of his injuries, nor his condition.
