MONSON, Mass. (WWLP) - There's concern in Monson over a goose who has survived an arrow through her body.
Outdoor enthusiast Joe Bernard of Springfield told 22News, he first saw the goose leading her goslings in the woods, near Munn Road, three weeks ago. The last time he saw the wounded bird was June 17th.
Bernard described its condition. “The arrow goes right through the back and comes out the chest; about two inches of a steel tipped arrow, about two inches of the arrow sticking out of the chest, and the rest going in the back behind the wings.”
He said the goose had been a fixture at a place called Frog Pond.
Bernard notified the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation , but several days of searching failed to locate the wounded goose.
