HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) - Hadley police officers rescued a 3-year-old boy and his grandfather on Saturday after they fell into the Connecticut River from their boat.

Hadley Police Chief Dennis Hukowicz told 22News, the boy fell in near Mitch’s Island.

His grandfather jumped in to grab him but both of them got caught in the current.

Officers were able to bring both of them back to shore.
