GRANBY, Mass. (WWLP) - Granby police are planning on charging a 20 year-old woman with motor vehicle homicide, days after they say she struck and killed a pedestrian with her car .
According to a news release sent to 22News by Granby Police Sgt. Mark Smith, they are planning to file charges against Tessa V. Desjardins, 20, of Belchertown for motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation, in connection with the accident that killed Faith Schauer-Swift, 61, of Maitland, Florida.
According to Smith, on Sunday afternoon, Schauer-Swift was walking northbound in the southbound shoulder of School Street, when she was struck by Desjardins’ vehicle, which was traveling south. Following the accident, Desjardins had stayed behind and waited for police and fire crews to arrive. She was not arrested at the time.
Police are continuing to investigate this accident.
