NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - One of New England's 'coolest' traditions was celebrated Friday in Hampshire County, at the second annual Northampton Ice Festival.
Ten different sculptors spent hours carefully chiseling blocks of ice into works of art. The ice sculptures are scattered throughout downtown Northampton.
"Tomorrow's supposed to be cold so I'll come back here in the morning and see what I can do. Put a nose... a beak on it," said ice sculptor Greg Stone.
The sculptures will remain on display throughout the weekend, and if the weather cooperates, possibly through Valentine's Day.
