WARE, Mass. (WWLP) - A drug sweep that ended with more than 30 arrests took place in Ware over the weekend.
The arrests come after a year and a half long investigation by members of the Ware Police Department. It involved the sale of various types of illegal drugs to undercover police officers.
The drugs involved were primarily heroin and prescription drugs.
Over thirty of the targeted persons were arrested during the drug sweep. Police will continue to search for remaining suspects. Arrest warrants had been obtained for forty people.
State Police Detectives assigned to the Hampshire County district Attorney's Office, Mass State Police, and the Hampshire County Sheriff's office was initiated the sweep at approximately 8:00am on December 15, 2012.
All suspects arrested during the sweep will be arraigned in Hampshire District Court Monday.
